My family and I love living in the Dandenong Ranges, in an earth sheltered house with a vegetable garden on the roof.
I love to make portraits that tell a story and convey a sense of relationship and intimacy with the person I'm photographing. Connecting with that person is the part I enjoy the absolute most about being a photographer and is key in my process when taking a portrait. I also dearly love to watch and observe people - something I've enjoyed doing since I was a kid.
I have a strong connection to the natural world - I spend most days traipsing through the bush trails near home. Landscapes are frequently part of my personal and client work.
I am interested in the identity of women, the environment and family. I'm currently shooting a long term series on the notion of femininity. I am working on several projects with Australian documentary collective MAP Group.
I sell some of my work as art prints through Superfine Prints and contribute to boutique stock photography agency Offset. I am also a contributor to advertising agency Shutterstock Custom.
Your photos will be authentic and honest, no matter the type of session we are working on together. During our session I will strive to capture real moments. I’ve always loved watching and understanding people and I think this comes through in my work.
Whether we are working on a commercial project together, a portrait session, or a family session: I will help you feel at home and capture your real self, using light in the best way possible.
You could say my style is documentary (documenting what is in front of me), though it is not photojournalism in the strictest sense (I want to capture the best parts of you).
I will chat with you. I might ask you to repeat a motion I liked. If I sense you are uncomfortable I will help you relax. I may give lots of guidance – this all depends on you and the type of session we are doing.
I love collaborating with other artists and makers. Please get in touch with your idea!
